This is my current Daffy Duck movie. It all initiate like this a millionaire leaves Daffy money but he must consume the money for great and needs to provide a service to people and if Daffy thinks of selfish aims the millionaire (ghost) will develop the money proceed so Daffy opens an exorcism agency and Porky, Bugs, and Sylvester work with him and they have to befriend cases of ghosts and monsters in a very current design I really recommend this video why WB doesn’t launch releasing classics like this on DVD, Extraordinary Island (Daffy’s First Movie 1983), Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie, The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie and all of those cartoons on video I’m definite that many kids will rob at as many other adults trying to remember their childhood.

This 1988 film, built around classic cartoons from the Warner Brothers library and unique footage, is a tremendous spoof of the GHOSTBUSTERS franchise. The positive title of “Daffy Duck’s Quackbusters” will grunt you what this clip-fest film will be about. The film features two contemporary cartoon shorts, 1987’s “The Duxorcist” and 1988’s “Night of the Living Duck”. These two cartoons, combined with specific clips edited from classic cartoons, were blended together to showcase a full-length titillating feature poking fun at the GHOSTBUSTERS popularity and the language ancient in the movie.

Daffy, Porky, and Bugs are billed as “Paranormalists at Big”. Throughout the film a spoof commercial pops up promoting their ghost hunting business. Allotment of the commercial includes a now-popular phrase among Looney Tunes fans where Daffy explains the objectives of their business and tells potential clients something like: “spooks spooked, goblins gobbled, ufo’s k.o’d, aliens alienated, and monsters remonstrated.”. One of the memorable aspects of the film was how effortlessly the classic clips blended together. This wasn’t the first time clip-filled arresting films had been released by Warner Brothers but it was the first, to my knowledge, where two relatively unique theatrical cartoons had been responsible for the commission of a full-length movie release.

And so…in between the classic clips we peer original animation of Bugs, Daffy, and Porky bridging the clips along. We’ll notice the hilarious “but I did eye an elephant in my bird bath” clip and pieces of Porky and Sylvester’s adventures when Sylvester was cast as a cowardly feline and Porky was his annoyed owner. The 1987 clip of “The Duxorcist” is hilarious…particularly for those familiar with what it’s spoofing, The Exorcist. In it, Daffy investigates a curious case of a female duck who’s possessed and it in this cartoon where the female utters all sorts of rubbish, but plainly enunciating in a sweet boom “Mary had a miniature lamb…” and then shouting in her possessed voice: “BUT I ATE IT!!!!”.

Sharp eared listeners will stamp the differences in Daffy’s swear when it segues from contemporary to classic footage. I enjoy they didn’t hurry up Daffy’s negate enough in the recent animation and so it sounds like Sylvester, more than it should. The incompatibility between those two character’s voices had always been that Sylvester had Mel Blanc’s bear disclose with a divulge added to it while Daffy was actually the same whine only sped up a few octaves in the playback process to net a itsy-bitsy higher tone.

The cartoon as a whole is 5 star material. This intellectual work by director Morris is the stuff of life. And death. It arouses the most basic just and noxious questions of being human through an enormously complex and yet simple man, Robert Peculiar McNamara. It seems no coincidence, his middle name, as we pick up to know him in all his cleverness and contradictions. Morris subtly illuminates, literally through McNamara’s eyes, what it means to have power over life and death. Like God. There is something almost spiritual in McNamara’s eyes, edited against searing images of, well, graphs, statistics, memoranda, bursting firebombs and nuclear mushrooms, almost all rarely seen-before footage. The eyes are the soul of this film - McNamara’s are a combination of supreme confidence and outrageous doubt. But not only his eyes - for example, we witness President Kennedy’s eyes frozen in the lens as he tells the nation of imminent nuclear war in 1962, a sight that would build a Marine shiver. This unusual interview technique (”interrotron” ) draws us into what? War? Peace? Honor? Life? Power? Foul?

Born 85 years ago, McNamara is the quintessential man of his time, what Brokaw called the greatest generation, a sobriquet this documentary underscores. In McNamara’s words he deplored the sorrow and pity of the four tall wars of his lifetime; the trenches in France; the nuclear and indiscriminate firebombing of innocent Japanese; the debacle in Korea; the flaming jungles of Vietnam. His convey of statistics is breathtaking. But it is the eyes that converse an inner truth, the sincere opposite of his concise, rational words - his 11 “lessons”. We gawk a man who never found himself in harm’s design. We spy eyes so ironically blinded by a circa 1918 vision of duty and honor that, though he loathed the horrifics of Vietnam, he was compelled to allow his upright judgment to go unexpressed until nearly 60,000 Americans were tedious. He was at once perhaps the most mighty man in the world and its most inappropriate. It is easy to scrutinize why a lustrous young President Kennedy would determine someone as Defense Secretary who seemed so like himself, but tragically without the courage. And why, with Kennedy’s death, McNamara by sheer ambition and brilliance would ascend to the very pinnacle of power.

Yet, I couldn’t dislike this guy. Perhaps the most telling moment is McNamara’s positive devastation at Kennedy’s assassination 41 years ago, again told in his eyes and a rare, emotional choking vow. So it’s difficult to blame him for all those deaths he might have prevented — McNamara genuinely believed he was doing the factual thing for his Presidents: through an obsessive sense of duty and loyalty. Now that his day of legacy approaches, he expresses criticism over the actions of others — General LeMay and President Johnson are the favored targets. But McNamara cannot quite bring himself to admit his hold mistakes of large proportions. Yet it’s quite obvious that he was one of only two men who could have ended the 7-year slaughter (of his term in office) . Many may accept that failure a reason to hate the man. I found it objective human.

This film offers up no easy answers (certainly not his 11 “lessons’), but more importantly raises many fundamental questions. Philip Glass’ elegiac, edgy scoring perfectly meshes with this thriller. An impressive and vital contribution to view our nation’s ambivalent past.

Errol Morris’s gorgeous documentary is about one of the 20th century’s most considerable players: Robert McNamara, who reprises the highlights of his life and professional career. The movie covers a lot of ground, including McNamara’s stint as a Ford Motor Co. executive, his participation as a war planner in World War II, and his crucial involvement as secretary of defense under President John F. Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and under Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson during the Vietnam War. There are some fine revelations, including his role in the firebombing of Japan, as well as the nuclear face-off between the United States and Cuba. This is another luminous coup for Morris, the inspired documentarian who has made a career out of conversations with the most though-provoking subjects. He tells a tale that knocks you legal off your feet.

First of all, let me objective say that I am very gracious to give a review of any film concerning the JFK assassination. I am currently a professor of psychology at Texas A&M International University with an educational background in sociology and political science. I began my research on the Kennedy assassination more than 8 years ago as an honors student in a Texas History class. Since then, I have returned to the subject on and off and have given presentations on the subject as a graduate student and more recently as a professor. In the process of doing my research, I came across Noel Twyman’s book Bloody Treason. At first I was turned off by the dramatic title (which I later discovered was a line from Shakespeare’s Ceasar), but once I read the book (over 800 pages) I realized it was very honest and scholarly, and the arrive of the author was that of a prosecuting attorney making his case before a court of sceptics. I admired the depth of this man’s research and was very surpised that his work did not receive the respect or attention it most certainly deserved. Either design, I later watched the Final Chapter episodes of the Men Who Killed Kennedy on the History Channel, and while I had some minor objections to the simplicity of its conclusions regarding the Texas connection, I feel that Nigel Turner nonetheless deserves praise for his stout contribution to this line of historical research. Having reached my possess conclusions, I had set the subject of the Kennedy assassination to rest for a while. Then I came across The Slay of JFK: A Revisionist History on DVD while perusing through some newly released DVDs. I have to say that I wasn’t alive to to expend another $18 on a JFK assassination DVD that I knew next to nothing about. But I finally decided to retract a chance and effect the hold. I was not dissapointed in the least. In fact, I was suprisingly impressed with how remarkable detailed information was revealed in this DVD and how well the filmmaker compiled news footage that was either rare or very hard to acquire. The most intriguing and indeed the most famous aspect of this film is that it places the JFK assassination in the context of the global and national sociopolitical atmosphere. In that sense, it also offers a very detailed analysis of historical events during the leisurely 1950s and early 1960s. I agree with the previous reviewer that the film, unlike the Men Who Killed Kennedy series, doesn’t arrangement any firm conclusions, but definitely gives the viewer enough information to continue doing research on their absorb. In sum, if you want to bag to the truth of the Kennedy assassination, read Bloody Treason by Noel Twyman, peruse the Final Chapter episodes of the Men Who Killed Kennedy (including the older episodes), and pick the Kill of JFK: A Revisionist History on DVD.

Probably the most inspiring documentary on the events preceding and following the JFK assassination I’ve ever seen. Beefy of terrific news footage that makes the time period near alive, including a unusual news clip of Jack Ruby’s lawyer telling newscameras that being in Dallas makes him want to vomit! This documentary tends to lean towards conspiracy, careful to never vocally advise that viewpoint as THE MEN WHO KILLED KENNEDY did. It offers a lot to consider about without taking a firm stance, which I appreciated.

Both of Ranma 1/2 movies are vast. They both deal with someone abducting Akane. If I had to decide I would say the 2nd movie was better. Mainly because of the fights at the slay. All of the main characters pick up to battle one of the poor guys.

The first movie deals with Akane being kidnapped by the cult of quandary worshipers…I am serious. Ranma has to battle all each of the 7 lucky god’s martial artists. The movie is dreary at the beginning, but picks up past towards the middle.

The second movie is about Akane being kidnapped by a young prince. The main cast has been stranded on a deserted island. The twist in this movie is he kidnaps every women he sees and pits them in a contest for his hand in marriage. This movie has some substantial fan service. The girls have on some of the most revealing bathing suits you will ever behold. Ukyou is the standout winner on this front.

I know there must be a slight effort over the label. $49 for 2 movies? In context it isn’t an unreasonable impress. When they first came out on VHS is was $34.99 per movie. I know because I paid that. I have seen the imprint as extreme at $42 on this situation. It may seem like a lot but your getting your getting your money’s worth.

The Ranma 1/2 Movie DVD Box Area is a two disc location. The first disc contains the first Ranma 1/2 movie, Sizable Exertion in Nekonron, China. The second disc contains the second Ranma 1/2 movie, Nihao My Concubine. However, neither disc contains any special features.

While the films themselves were very savory, I was disappointed that all this two disc area had were the movies. The runtime for the first film is 81 minutes, and the runtime for the second film is 59 minutes. With such short runtimes, both films could have easily fit onto one disc. However, between releasing the films in a two-disc box space, and not including any special features, it comes across that Viz Media was more eager in finding a map to be able to charge as mighty as possible and not keep noteworthy trouble into the release. By putting the films into a two-disc state, Viz Media seemed to feel they were justified to charge the same amount for this location as for the episode box sets. Personally, I feel that the site, as it is now, is a ripoff.

While I like Ranma 1/2, I believe Viz Media is charging too powerful for this site. If you are a Ranma 1/2 fan and want to have everything on DVD, then you do need to salvage this situation to complete your collection. However, I would recommend seeing if you can net it for a better brand, either because a retail outlet regularly sells it for a lower effect, or the station is lowered during a sales promotion. Or, as a last resort, you can always wait for the heed to drop naturally, because the plot has been out for a long enough time that Viz Media feels they’ve gotten as many sales as they can at the higher effect. However, it could unruffled be a couple of years before that happens, so you might have to wait a while for that option.

I remember watching this movie when it first came out on VHS. As a kid, I notion it was a unsightly movie, a possible scenario of World War III. After buying the DVD and watching it again, I must say that it aloof stirs emotions in me. This depiction of an attack on U.S. soil is possible, but fabulous. To peer this movie and say that the events shown could NEVER happen is foolish and ignorant.

One previous reviewer asks what happened to NATO in the movie. Well, if the reviewer had paid attention, NATO had dissolved in the movie. Another Principal detail that some reviewers left out was the nuclear attack on most bases and federal headquarters. The communists did not objective select all their planes and tanks and unprejudiced march in. A nuclear “first-strike” was initiated to throw the U.S. completely off-balance. Powers Boothe, who plays a downed F-15 pilot, explains all of these events to the kids that are now acting as guerillas in the movie. As someone who served in the Air Force as a missle commence control officer, I got to discover how strategies like the ones portrayed in this movie could work.

The whole tale in this movie is about Russians and Cubans (along with Nicaraguans) invading the U.S. and how it affects the lives of some high school kids. These kids become “The Wolverines”. Named after their high school mascot, they become guerillas, slowly taking out shrimp enemy installations and equipment. They do not single-handedly ruin all the commies as some other reviewers deem that was depicted! There were other guerilla units, too.

The film portrays war in a somewhat negative light, but preserves patriotism and acknowledges the legitimacy of the Second Amendment. I highly recommend buying this DVD because of that! The only blemish that it has is the sound quality. I expected better sound with Dolby Digital and DVD quality.

I was walking around at the local dvd store yesterday looking for a nice movie to spy that same evening. My watch fell on Red Dawn, and I read what the encourage of the dvd said. I was tempted and it sounded like an though-provoking film, so I bought it and watched it.

Red Dawn follows the myth of 8 teenagers that manage to race an attack on their home town when world war III breaks out. They cruise into the mountains and from there they attack the enemyforces with gurellia attacks. This leads to titanic, but also brutal action scenes, thrilling, but also disturbing situations and highly emotional scenes that demonstrate the human soul harm and broke down.

As soon as the credits were rolling over the hide I was calm and impartial gazed at the veil, thinking about what I had seen. The message had reached me loud and positive.

The casting of this film is well done. All of the actors act realistic and their emotion feels terribly actual, which definitely helps you to feel for them. The cast contains well-known stars that where all not that well-known while starring in this film. It contains Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing, Road House, Ghost), Charlie Sheen (Platoon, Wall street), Lea Thompson (Attend to the Future I, II and III) and Jennifer Grey (Dirty Dancing) . The rest of the main cast is less well-known (at least, to me), but peaceful do one hell of a job bringing their characters to life that all feel like proper personnes in stead of fair a few movie characters.

The only thing that should have been different about this film is that you don’t really gather to know the characters before the war stars. After only about four minutes the attack starts, so you don’t really know what kind of main characters you are dealing with. But when they are together and thinking what there can be done, you will glance who is who and what kind of characters they are.

The film has a lot of action sequences and thrilling moments that will entertain action and war fans for definite. Also Drama fans are definitely on the true location with this movie cause it really touches you. Comedy fans will have to peruse someplace else, cause there are only about two tiny jokes in the entire film, for the rest the film is ugly, realistic, even disturbing at some points and is definitely not for the faint of heart. It really shows what happens to people during war, how their feelings change, how their entire personality changes. The message is therefor loud and clear: war is dreadful, changes people terribly and gives nothing more than destruction, injure and a lot of suffering.

The film has a fair eighties glimpse and helps to give the epic a kind of gritty contemplate. It is a well shot recount and although some of the camerapositions don’t assume some expressions that well, it shows you what has to be shown. The sets are mostly outdoor and there are fair landscapes that attend bring the account to life. It does not feel like being filmed in a backyard. The music is nice but isn’t that indicate in all the scenes which is a pitty some times.

The film is tranquil echoing in my mind. It determined left an impression on me and the film is an emotional coast that left me actually caring for the characters.

A film that I will remember for a long time to reach.

This 10th Anniversary DVD is honest a smaller version of the 3-Disc Collector’s Edition. You’re getting the movie plus a few of the extras from the 3-disc spot. I suggest to anyone that already has the 3-Disc site to not bother, because you’ll be paying for less of the same thing. If you don’t bear any copies of Grand I would try and track down the 3-Disc site, because it’s the same designate(and cheaper at some places) as the 10th Anniversary Edition, and you’ll be getting more extras and better packaging. Stout is one of my favorites movies of the 90s and my second accepted from James Cameron, but this DVD is a end of money.

By the blueprint, I apologize for bringing the movie’s rating down with my 2 stars rating(which was meant for the 10th anniversary dvd release and not for the movie itself. I didn’t realise I did this until now.

Don’t salvage me unpleasant, I savor Stout but I found it outlandish how the disc transfer was only shrimp to the bare bones! A theatrical trailer, that’s it! Advance on! This is the most expensive movie, highest grossing movie, most critically acclaimed, and most award-winning movie an there are zero extras? Cameron’s other films are fully loaded. Colossal gets the shaft while lesser films like AMERICAN PIE 2 are blessed with double disc sets with hours of bonuses. This concern me beyond understanding as a film buff. I remember a well-done special that was once on FOX about the film and would’ve been perfect on the disc. A commentary, for crying out loud! A million filmmakers and castmembers and no commentary track? Insane! This disc should be the most overwhelming, extra-ladden DVD ever made, but instead only got left with the standard. The relate and sound quality is top notch, but once you’re done the movie you’re anxious to regain out more. There aren’t even any cheesy production notes! Collectors, skip this DVD unless you really esteem the movie. I only hope that J.C. realizes this and is in the works of a Gigantic SPECIAL EDITION. Now that would do it justice.

This is a 1970 rendition of Shakespeare’s play “Julius Caesar” that is well adapted for the veil. Hence the characters are well known contemporaries. You will view the major players and might miss some of the others such as Preston Lockwood (Trebonius) who played the Consider in “Strong Poison” ASIN: B000062XDY. With many movies the actor out shine the character and totally changes the emphasis of the narrative. However this version is well done with maybe the exception of Jason Robards (Brutus) who sometimes seems like Jason Robards playing Brutus at other times he is quite exceptional. Diana Rigg (Portia) who looks like a diminutive girl is the only person that sounds like she is speaking in meter. Everyone speaks clearly and pauses long enough for you to mediate before lively on. Facial expressions are distinguished to the sage and they do not peer like they are yelling at you (except in speeches) .

You will leer that the attend ground music is also of 70’s vantage and is feeble to emphasize obvious scenes. However the volume is not so high that you can not hear the positive pronunciation of the lines. Also the costumes made with satin are distracting. At one point Antony looks like Carol Burnett when she was wearing a curtain and left the rod in.

Robards’ collected, self-involved portrayal of Brutus may not immediately assist the story’s needs, but later, the inequity between an indecisive Brutus and the take-charge Antony is that grand better delineated, due entirely to Robards supposedly vague near. His Brutus, as played against Heston is appropriate; in fact, Robards should be given more credit for a courageous interpretation of this complex character.

Excellent Technicolor photography, a nicely unobtrusive come by and top notch casting beget this “Julius Caesar” an delicate and memorable film.

Also dwelling in Roman times, TITUS, with Anthony Hopkins (as Titus Andronicus), is a startling and superlative adaptation of Shakespeare’s darkest play.

Ruby is now a nanny for a dysfunctional family who is trying to cope after the death of the mother in the family. The family is disconnected, the father a workaholic and the two children feeling distanced. Ruby helps the family realize they need each other, and need to stick together. Overall it is a astounding holiday movie that will warm your heart. Dolly sings some improbable songs too. Overall a well written movie, and Dolly is ample in it. Add this one to your collection, it will brighten any Christmas.

A fantastic holiday movie about a woman played by Dolly Parton who has an untimely death and must complete a reliable deed on earth to enter the gates of heaven.
